Manufacturing/Production/Operations Career Level: Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) Job Description Learning and Development Manager- Bloomington, MN Responsible for leading the training and development function for Toro’s commercial business unit. Primary Duties: Develop the strategic, annual and budgetary plans for the department. Partner with internal customers to assess product sales and service education curriculum requirements. Develop, coordinate and execute learning programs within a documented curriculum to provide timely, complete, and accurate product & program sales and service education to domestic and international, distributor personnel, Sports Fields & Grounds end user customer and Golf end user customers and Toro personnel. Manage the planning, delivery and maintenance of Distance Learning content using, but not limited to the following delivery methods: Web Conferencing, Live presentation, DVD video, MP3 based audio, etc. Develop and implement large conference training venues for employees and end user customers. Oversee the product training for dealers, service technicians, sales representatives, end user customers and Toro employees. Manage the evolution of Sales and Service certification, including delivery, tracking, training database and continuing education. Oversee the promotion of the function and the specific learning offerings. Maintain working relationships with educational partners, associations, consultants, channel partners and end user customers. Conduct formal needs analysis among distributors and key customers to identify gaps and opportunities for training and development. Specifications: Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in vocational, technical, or industrial education or similar adult learning programs is required. At least eight years of experience in managing education and adult learning for a durable goods business. Expertise in adult learning process in the areas of technical education, sales skill development, marketing and professional development is necessary. Must be able to demonstrate strong technical / business related verbal and written communication skills. Travel: Domestic and international travel that includes a minimum of three annual trips of 10-14 days in length.
