MAINTENANCE PLANNER

MAINTENANCE PLANNER

Large manufacturing facility in West Tennessee is seeking a Maintenance Planner.SUMMARY

The Maintenance Planner position is responsible for assisting with the development of reliability based maintenance strategy, based on preventive and predictive maintenance.  The position works directly with the Maintenance Manager to build a reliable CMMS system and maintenance team.  The role of the Maintenance Planner is to improve work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of manpower, parts and material, and equipment access.  The Maintenance Planner prepares work plans for individual jobs and assists the Maintenance Manager in preparing work schedules and reports. 

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

Provide detailed work instructions for maintenance and operations to increase plant performance through improved equipment reliability. 

 

Review work requests daily with Operations and Maintenance

 

Support the execution of maintenance work by receiving, planning, estimating, scheduling and recording required historical data.

 

Manage work order backlog; coordinate work orders with maintenance support and assist in identifying staffing and resource requirements through the development of crewing guide.

 

Coordinate with appropriate department to ensure the availability of facilities and equipment in need of work.

 

Assure parts, materials, special tools and equipment are available for orderly and efficient work execution.

 

Prepares and distributes accurate reports to upper management on Maintenance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including, but not limited to, the following: work order backlog, mean time between failures (MTBF), mean time to repair (MTTR), number of planned vs. emergency jobs and percentage completed.

 

Develop and manage a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance Program.

 

Develop and maintain a Job Master.

 

Chairs weekly planning meetings between Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance.

Must be able to obtain and retain a security clearance with the Department of Defense (DoD), if required.

Must be able to read and follow Standard Operating Procedures.

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Position requires a minimum of 5 years experience in Maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.  A BS Engineering degree is preferred, or equivalent training and experience, with strong administrative, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.  A strong proficiency in MS Office Suite products is desired, experience with CMMS such as MP2 is a plus.  Detailed knowledge of equipment maintenance requirements and ability to describe what is to be accomplished is required along with good planning and estimating skills for maintenance tasks.   

 LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and facility/equipment drawings/blueprints.  Ability to generate routine reports and correspondence, including project timelines and status reports.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
