MASTER MACHINIST

We currently have openings for Master Machinists at our San Diego facility.

 

This position will have the following responsibilities:

· This position requires demonstrated experience as a Master Machinist and/or completion of a 4 year Certified Apprenticeship Program.

· The ideal candidate will be experienced in running manual and CNC machine tools.  Experience with Pro-Engineer is preferred.

· The applicant must have the ability to work in a teaming environment with an emphasis on ISO compliance, safety, and quality.

· The applicant must have a good working knowledge of blueprint reading, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

· He/she must be fully competent in the planning of sequence operations, set up, programming (if applicable), and operating various machine tools. He/she must be able to perform machining operations in construction and repair of facility parts, tools, developmental parts, production parts, and other related machining work.

· He/she must be able to perform machining operations from sketches, engineering drawings, written and verbal instructions; requiring difficult and complex machining involving exacting and coordinating tolerances.  The applicant must be able to determine proper selection and use of cutting tools, methods of holding and aligning work, improvise and adapt various attachments, and other machining aids.

· The applicant must be able to inspect his/her own work to ensure that all tolerances are held.
