Maintenance Area Manager

The Goodyear Tire and Rubber company currently has an opening for a Maintenance Area Manager in Union City, TN.   

Purpose:  The primary purpose of this position is to organize and direct the hourly maintenance associates and maintain a safe work environment. 

Primary Responsibilities:



·         Provide leadership in operations center safety agenda

·         Communicate maintenance issues with all levels of management, union representatives, and hourly associates

·         Develop schedules, short & long term work plans & prioritize

·         Financial management working with maintenance & engineering budgets for daily operations and special projects

·         Maintain working knowledge of all operations within assigned value stream in order to be better prepared to help production and staff departments when problems arise.

·         Manage machine uptime and reliability in the value stream



 

Qualifications/Requirements:

 



·         Minimum 2-year Technical degree and/or equivalent accredited applicable experience in industrial machine/equipment maintenance (four-year degree preferred in engineering or other maintenance related field)

·         Minimum of two years of managerial experience

·         Proven ability to lead an organization to completion of goals

·         Demonstrated high interest in safety

·         Strong communication skills – verbal and written

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

·         Proven ability to work well with people and to respect cultural, racial and gender diversity

·         Excellent computer keyboard skills and demonstrated efficiency with Microsoft Office applications

·         Willingness to work to support a 24-7 continuous operation

 

Desired Requirements:

 

·         Four-year degree in engineering or other related field

·         Should be self motivated and have the ability to take initiative

·         Ability to troubleshoot complex Mechanical, Electronic & Hydraulic systems
