Position Summary:

The nature and scope of this position encompasses two areas that will be referred to as coordination and supervisory.

Coordination

- The incumbent initiates job preparation and planning by advising the Maintenance Planner of tasks that require technical specifications, limitations, methods or procedures to be defined prior to being scheduled.

- The incumbent initiates, authorizes, and schedules routine contract work and services company and is responsible for ensuring administrative functions for appropriate cost control are in place, such as providing the scope of work to the vendor, approving purchase order requisitions and maintaining a cost control spread sheet for budget control purposes.

- The Maintenance Coordinator contributes to monitoring and maintaining the Master Preventive Maintenance Schedule by ensuring the even distribution of preventive maintenance throughout the year and coordinating the updating of PM check lists as deemed necessary by equipment upgrades and modifications. The Maintenance Coordinator is also responsible for entering new equipment numbers and ensuring the updating of equipment parts catalog by the maintenance planner.

- The incumbent works closely with the Methods Engineer with respect to priority and scheduling of activities from the preventive and predictive maintenance program.

- Daily job lists are prepared and distributed by the incumbent to the appropriate Maintenance Supervisors for execution. The Maintenance Coordinator must ensure that planning is complete before scheduling job tasks. Upon completion of the work order the incumbent is responsible for ensuring that pertinent information is recorded in the equipment history as well as ensuring that work orders are closed and history is entered by the Maintenance Supervisors. History must be kept in such a manner that it can be used for analysis purposes such as follow-up, upgrade requirements, troubleshooting and budget preparation. Information is kept live in the Computerized Maintenance Management System as well as hard copies, as deemed necessary, are placed in the maintenance equipment files.

- The incumbent maintains the mechanical backlog ensuring work orders are up to date, have been sufficiently planned and are kept live as required providing information as to the status and scheduling requirements of the same.The incumbent will schedule the daily and weekly workload of the Maintenance Department and will define the overall plant schedule for annual equipment overhauls and coordinates the schedule accordingly. By obtaining and recording pertinent information required the incumbent produces a schedule ensuring mechanical, electrical, production, process and development requirements fit into the schedule thus defining the critical path. Throughout the shutdown the incumbent tracks all departments' tasks ensuring the critical path stays within a fixed duration while at the same time meeting the scheduling needs of the mechanical department for that particular overhaul and the daily maintenance of equipment in operation.

- The incumbent must have advanced knowledge of and utilize the Microsoft Project Scheduler software in order to produce an effective, live document for reference by plant personnel.

Educational Background: Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Technology

Experience:

- Minimum of 3 years related experience in engineering and maintenance of equipment and facilities in a professional/management role

-Demonstrate ability in planning, organizing, directing and developing the maintenance department.

- Extensive technical problem-solving background.

- Negotiating abilities and competency in conflict resolution.

- Proven participative management style and ability to develop teams

- Experience in cement industry is strongly desired.
