Position Summary :

The Inspector's prime objective is to monitor the condition of plant equipment through inspections and preventive/predictive maintenance activities so as to maximize equipment reliability and life expectancy at it's optimum output and repair cost.

 

With the goal of ensuring equipment reliability and the timely budgeting of major expenditures, monitors assigned plant mechanical equipment through an inspection schedule, gathering and recording data to be used for tracking, trending and predicting when maintenance or replacement is required.

 

Validates work requests and, in conjunction with the Maintenance Planner, specifies appropriate maintenance action.

 

Position is grade 13 with Lafarge Inspector Certification.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Educational Background :

Graduate of relevant technology or engineering program.

 

 

Experience :

Extensive related experience in a heavy industry/mining environment, preferably in the cement industry.

 

Accomplished in the use of predictive techniques, including nondestructive testing methods and oil and vibration analysis.  Lubrication and Vibration Certification is preferred.

 

Demonstrated competence with the software applications in use at the plant, including Maximo is preferred.
