Maintenance Manager for PVC Pipe Plant

General Duties:
Responsible for mainteance and repair of plant facilities and systems installations and/or rearrangments of manufacturing equipment.  This being either in-plant forces or supervision of outside contractors.



Specific Duties:

1. Responsible for hiring, training and discipline of maintenance employees in a fair and unbiased manner according to company policy and local, state and federal regulations.

2. Responsible for preventative maintenance schedule for all plant systems and equipment.

3. Assist in evaluation of new systems and equipment. Insure that all systems are in safe operating condition and in compliance with all company, local, state and federal laws and to keep abreast of any changes in these standards.

4. Supervise and assist in all repairs in order to minimize downtime. Control labor cost through management if overtime.

5. Responsible for inventory and control of all spare parts and supplies.

6. Assure that maintenance functions and construction projects meet required local, state and federal codes and requirements.

7. Complies with and enforces all company standards, rules and policies.

8. Performs any and all other company related tasks and responsibilities as per Management’s directions.



Physical Requirements:

1. Must be able to stand and walk on concrete floors.

2. Must be able to lift and move pipe to packaging station. Weights to 60 pounds.

3. Must be able to push a rolling load a distance of 30 feet.



Experience and Education Requirements:

1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED).



Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to other employees of the organization. Ability to speak, comprehend and read basic English.



Computer Skills:  Basic computer knowledge in applications such as Work, Excel, etc.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
