From soft drinks and laundry detergent to salad dressing and motor oil, Plastipak Packaging, Inc. products are the containers of choice for many Fortune 500 companies.  More information about Plastipak can be found at http://www.plastipak.com/. Plastipak is pleased to announce openings for Maintenance Technicians/Technical Support in our Jackson Center, OH facility.  The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment.  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.  Observes mechanical devices in operation and trouble shoots to locate causes of trouble.2.  Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.3.  Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.4.  Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.5.  Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.6.  Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.7.  Lubricates and cleans parts.8.  Starts devices to test their performance.9.  Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.10.  Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.11.  Repairs electrical equipment.12.  Programming and troubleshooting of PLCs13.  Maintain vision systems SKILLS AND ABILITIES:1.  Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.2.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.3.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.4.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.5.  Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.6.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.7.  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.8.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Plastipak offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and life insurance, vacation and holiday pay, 401(k) matching and more.
