The Management Associate position is an entry-level position within United States Steel Corporation that prepares the college graduate for supervisory responsibilities at its various facilities.  Management Associates generally are provided 6-12 months of training in conjunction with assignments to assist in this development.

 

The United States Steel and Carnegie Pension Fund has an immediate opening for an entry-level position in its Pittsburgh, Pa headquarters location, in the Retired Employee Services Group. 

 

Responsibilities include: 

· Participate individually and/or with members of the Retired Employee Services team in the implementation of projects or new services that are designed to: 

o  control administrative costs

o  contain the cost of benefits

o  improve the accuracy and timeliness of the administrative staff

o  ensure legal compliance

o  complete special projects

o  ensure a safe working environment

· Assist with the day-to-day administration of the defined benefit plan, including: eligibility determination, benefit calculation, application processing, correspondence, reporting, and related activities.

· Coordinate activity related to the segregation of retirement benefits based on court orders.

 

Requirements

· Business or Human Resources related Bachelors Degree required. 

· Candidate must be proficient in computer skills (especially Word/Excel/Power Point). 

· Candidate must have strong interpersonal, communication, writing and organizational skills. 

· Candidate is required to meet corporate ethics and professionalism standards.

 

Desired Qualifications

· Problem solving, team building, analytical aptitude and quick learning ability.

· Basic familiarity with employee benefit plans.
