Manager, Advanced Systems
General Responsibility Leads advanced systems group for floor care products. Develops and maintains a technology road map. Works directly with design, engineering and marketing on one or more cross-functional new product project teams. Develop and improve technology and systems by the use of internal resources and outside suppliers. Essential Duties · Lead and direct all activities of the advanced systems project team(s) and support NPDP teams in order to achieve successful market introduction · Work with internal and external resources to validate new designs and applications. · Drive an advanced technology and ideation process and evaluate trends, technologies, components, SW products, materials etc. for feasibility, usability and market potential. Knowledge exchange on technologies and systems with other TTI entities. · Prepare and present projects for capital requests, reviews, releases, and other program updates to management groups; works with management to resolve obstacles; evaluate risks, recommend solutions. · Performs other related duties as required and assigned. · Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, an advanced degree a plus · Eight years experience in technology development; Five plus years experience working in a new product development team environment; Three plus years experience in a supervisory/leadership role as a project manager as part of cross functional teams · Strong technical background and former member of cross-functional “new products” product team · Broad background in mechanical, electronics, filtration, airflow flow, system analysis tools · Minimum 5 years in product development role in consumer product packaged goods · Good understanding of equipment, tools and software · Ability to read and understand Intellectual Property · Ability to effectively lead/facilitate teams and communicate/translate highly technical terms into a more commonly understood language · Strong written and verbal communication skills including effective presentation skills, one-on-one communication, creative writing, technical writing and report writing · Able to work effectively with internal and external resources · Demonstrated project management skills. Organized. Attention to detail · Working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
