As a Manager of Application Technology for our organization some of your responsibilities will include: Key member of the Engine Business Unit Information Technology team:Work with EBU IT leaders to develop the long term vision and strategy for applications and infrastructure based on current and future needs and based on current and future Cummins Enterprise Architecture technology Highest level of understanding of EBUIT entity business processes and systems and related industry requirementsFocus on technology designs consistent with Cummins standards (architecture and security), maximize opportunity to design for re-use, and leverage existing reusable components Act as CEA Architect Extended Team member for EBU with following responsibilities:Act as the technical consultant/expert during the design and implementation of IT products and servicesConsult project managers on ITPM Architecture, Security, and Operations reviewsGuide project teams on technology selectionAct as liaison to Architecture and Standards Architecture teamCEA monthly review board BU representativeAct as IT Security Extended Team member for EBU with the following responsibilities:Consult project managers on ITPM Security reviewsGuide project teams on data classification, storage and transmission.Act as liaison to Architecture and Standards IT Security teamLeading Security compliance activities and projectsParticipate in special Technology teams as EBU representative:Participate in Selection/POC projects to facilitate the Selection/POC processPPT (Product Preceding Technology) TeamOther new infrastructure implementation team as requiredActively seek and participate in continuous improvement projectsMaintain a working knowledge of emerging information technologies Application PortfolioBU Application Certification OversightEBUIT approver for Class 2 and Class 3 software requestsMaintain an application roadmap for our BU and work with BU leadership to keep our applications currentParticipate in Planning for Architecture, Security, and OperationsLeading Platform Reduction/Obsolescence Migration activity projects B.S. Computer Science, Computer Information SystemsAt least 5 years experience in complex technical development (Oracle, J2EE, Web)Experience in Production Support High level of technical proficiency with broad based IT skills including knowledge of or familiarity with Sun Solaris, Oracle Database, Websphere, Configuration Management systems, LDAP, Siteminder, J2EE, and n-Tier ArchitectureStrong business analysis skillsStrong customer focusExcellent organizational skillsKnowledge of Project Management methodologies (e.g. ITSPM and ITPM)Good understanding of business processes supported by EBU ITFamiliarity with Cummins overall IT environmentAbility to communicate well, both written and verbal, with individuals at all levels of the company, customers, and vendors in a technical and non-technical mannerCompensation: Base salary commensurate with experience plus bonus.
