Manager, Forecasting
The Forecasting and S&OP Manager is responsible for work cross-functionally with sales management to develop customer level forecasts, as well as the execution of the monthly S&OP process. This position will have an influential role in the demand planning team as well as in the design and development of forecasting tools. Major responsibilities include: Responsible for providing analytical and technical support for the sales forecasting initiatives. Main contact with sales for all demand planning and sales forecasting communication Work closely with the sales account manager and sales support teams to develop a sales forecast. Analyze sales forecast along with trends to provide suggestions to the sales forecast team. Develop and publish key forecast accuracy metrics for respective brand along with recommendations for improvement Analyze prior forecast to identify potential sources of forecast error and make appropriate adjustments. Provide detailed analysis of forecast changes and challenges to review with sales department prior to buy decisions Foster cross-functional discussion to improve process and/or inputs that could impact forecast Key participant in weekly demand management meetings Assist with the preparation and analysis for the monthly S&OP Planning meetings. Manage brand specific closeout initiative and execution with sales account management (main contact), marketing (pricing approval), order processing, distribution and inventory planning. Variance to Financial Budget Variance to Marketing Estimates Forecast Change Analysis Analyze sales forecast along with trends to provide suggestions to the sales forecast team and supply chain planning teams Develop and publish key forecast accuracy metrics along with recommendations for improvement Analyze prior forecast to identify potential sources of forecast error and make appropriate adjustments. Provide detailed analysis of forecast changes and challenges to review with supply chain planning team prior to buy decisions Foster cross-functional discussion to improve process and/or inputs that could impact forecast Customer Instock / Performance Scorecards – understand and facilitate with the materials team. Primary contact for Sales Lead Allocation efforts Prepare sales vs actual analysis by category, brand and item Prepare trending based on historical trends, current retail environment and industry knowledge. Analyze prior forecast to identify potential sources of forecast error and make appropriate adjustments. Provide detailed analysis of forecast changes and challenges to review with sales department prior to buy decisions Oracle SCP forecasting a plus Advanced Skills in MS Access and Excel Retail Forecasting and Replenishment Experience a plus Ability to establish strong partnerships with internal work groups. Strong conceptual and quantitative problem solving skills. Exceptional analytical skills, business insight and strategic orientation. Critical thinking skills in formulating hypotheses, interpreting results, and being able to make educated recommendations when data may be sparse or unavailable.
