Manager - Global Learning

This key position exists to: Provide overall Leadership to the Timken Company by setting the strategic direction for Global learning through Timken University. Consult and collaborate with key stakeholders from the business and corporate centers to ensure that the company’s learning strategy aligns and supports business and corporate centers goals and objectives. Inform Senior Management about current, up to date, and progressive learning methods, processes and tools utilized in the industry. Executing leading edge learning methods, tools and process that support business initiatives and drive capability throughout the organization. Champion and build a learning culture at the Timken Company. Provide leadership to a staff of learning professionals responsible for Timken University operations, instructional design, and administration. Partner with OD Manager and LRM roles to continuously improve talent and learning development solutions. Provide expertise to institutionalize formal and informal methods of learning (including knowledge management) into the organization. Advocate the importance of and help build awareness for the value proposition of Timken University and related content and processes. End Results and Deliverables: Influence and build a learning culture at the Timken Company.   Oversee and evaluate all aspects of the learning process in conjunction with ADDIE methodology.   Identify and implement training policy, procedures and tools to successfully deploy a learning strategy within the organization.   Establish/build strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in the Bearing and Steel business as well as corporate centers and peers.   Establish/build strategic relationships with internal/external vendor networks.   Design and implement overall communications strategy to support the learning value propoostion.   Work closely with communications to ensure Timken University branding, logos and collateral management is aligned to support  learning value proposition.   Benchmark/Research best in class learning organizations to understand emerging trends tools and processes in learning.   Inform/communicate to senior leadership teams current trends in learning that align with our corporate values and strategies and diverse needs of learners within the organization.   Develop and execute  a set of robust strategies required to develop a formal (instruction/education) and informal (knowledge sharing) global learning function.    Work collaboratively with business leaders, HR,  Learning Relationship Managers, OD manager and learning professionals in the business units to deliver timely and relevant learning solutions based on their strategy and objectives identifies through a robust needs assessment process.   Ensure and measure stakeholder satisfaction by establishing KPI’s that align with the Timken University value proposition.   Responsible for maintaining and managing learning budget.   Pay manager responsibilities for a staff of learning professionals.   Provide coaching and development opportunities for the Timken University staff. Education: 4 year degree in Business, Human Resources, Psychology, education or related field. Master's degree (preferred) in business, organizational development or related field. Experience: 7-10 years experience in driving learning strategies in an organization preferably in a Fortune 500 company. Demonstrated ability to influence at a senior leadership level. Demonstrated ability to achieve results. Demonstrated Business acumen skills. Excellent presentation and facilitation skills. Ability to build relationships and interface with all levels of an organization. Experience in instructional and learning design and development. Well developed communication skills.
