We are currently seeking a Human Resources Manager to be located in either the Dallas, TX, or Chicago, IL, area. This position will serve as a business partner to the Trade Sales team and drive key HR strategies and programs throughout the Sales organization. This will include:Strong understanding of the business dynamics and the link HR provides to create effective organizations.Coach key business leaders (and their leadership teams) on effectively managing the organization through performance management, succession planning, and organization design and development.Diagnosis issues and drive creative solutions. Handle complex employee relations issues and where appropriate, inform senior HR leaders to ensure alignment in resolving a situation. Drive HR processes and operating mechanisms within the client organization and lead program/project initiatives across the organization. Responsibilities:1. Develop and drive HR strategic action plans that are aligned with business needs. Drive initiatives to help foster inclusive environments that values diversity.2. Improve performance by leaders through effective coaching and mentoring.3. Successful execution of HR driven operating mechanisms such as performance management, salary planning, succession planning, organization talent reviews, recruiting/staffing, etc.4. Resolution of complex employee relations issues.5. Effective and persuasive presentations to influence leadership team and employee teams.6. Attract, retain and identify key talent; lead innovative recruiting and staffing strategies.7. Facilitate new manager, leader and team assimilations and training programs to root cause issues, upgrade talent and develop action plans that will enhance performance.Key Qualifications:The successful candidate will have 7-10 years HR experience. Ideally, they will also have specific experience in sales, marketing and manufacturing environments working with large, big box channels. Additional requirements are:1. Results - A proven track record of exceeding goals and expectations; evidence of the ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment. 2. Leadership and Interpersonal Skills - applies excellent interpersonal skills both in one-on-one situations with all levels of personnel, and in facilitating group meetings and keeping them on track. Collaborates effectively with and influences peers and other leaders/senior management in making business based decisions and to solve complex problems, and resolve disagreements with informed, rational debate. Demonstrates emotional maturity by depersonalizing conflict and focusing on the issues.3. Complexity - The candidate must have experience in managing and prioritizing a number of initiatives. Comfortably moves between highly varying levels of abstraction (business strategy, organizational strategy, etc). Exercises excellent judgment that balances tradeoff decisions and the needs of key stakeholders as well as the entire organization. 4. Leadership and Organization - Marshal resources outside of the immediate team to accomplish HR and business goals. The ability to quickly understand the nuances of how the organization truly functions and how to get things done through formal and informal channels. This candidate must be a fast learner and self-starter. He/She must listen well, absorb and process important information, and earn the respect and trust of others in a new environment. 5. Action Oriented - Enjoys working hard and looks for challenges. Able to act and react as necessary even if limited information is available. Not afraid to take charge of a situation when trouble comes; can overcome resistance and take unpopular stands when necessary. Acts with a sense of urgency. Initiates, develops and drives the adoption of organization and process improvements. Assists leaders in identifying both team and individual skill set gaps, recruiting, selection and training.6. Innovative - Demonstrates initiative, creativity and innovation to drive breakthrough thinking on organizational and people issues.7. Strong communication (verbal/written). Documents and communicates status, issues, and risks in a timely manner to stakeholders and senior management. Provides input on HR and business strategies related to the assigned organization. 8. Supports other leaders/managers, and collaborates with peers to achieve end-to-end HR solutions.9. Undergraduate degree is required... MBA desirable.10. Competent in all HR functional areas (employee relations, staffing, compensation, org design and development, performance mgmt, etc)11. Proven HR business partner skills12. Thorough knowledge of employment laws, compensation practices, HR operating mechanisms13. Understanding and application of change management and process improvement principles.14.
