Job Summary:


Manage development of IFE/cabin systems designs for each type of aircraft served to provide required capacity and coverage for services to be provided.

 

Key Responsibilities:
Identify, evaluate and manage third party vendor/suppliers for design, development and installation of cabin systems equipment (including RFP/RFQ process).Responsible for the design, development, installation and review of technical data and certification of cabin systems equipment on all models of airplanes.Design product variations for compatibility with complex integration of hardware and software.Coordinate between airplane customers and suppliers to ensure the functioning and compliance of all systems and equipment.Apply knowledge of electrical / mechanical engineering and scientific principles to develop, design, analyze, test and validate solutions for complex systems and sub-systems.Assist with trouble shooting system anomalies and propose solutions Design cabin systems to satisfy customer, FAA and internal requirements. Support integrated supply chain with manufacturability and obsolescence issues, product transitions to new suppliers and cost savings initiatives.Generate and perform system test procedures and reports.Leadership of small to mid-sized teams to include teams with customer and subcontractor team members.Coordinate and interface with other engineering groups (RF Engineering, Development, Network Engineering) for schedules and integration efforts.

Qualifications:



Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related technical field. Advanced degree preferred.7+ years experience in aviation industry designing cabin systems 5+ years experience in IFE design and integration into aircraft electrical systems required. Competent in relevant FAA regulationsExtensive experience with complex avionics or electrical systems and a strong background in the concepts of project management. Wireless and networking experience a plus.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface with customers, vendors, partners and other departments.
