Manager Material Planning

Responsible for managing, controlling, and directing material planning to meet production schedules. Develops, implements, and maintains policies to assure the timely flow of materials within working capital guidelines. Provides oversight and data maintenance of inventory control systems used to track the status of purchase orders, inventory levels, and production requirements. Forecasts plans for anticipated materials requirements. Facilitates supplier quality and service improvement efforts specific to location.Position Responsibilities Arrange shipment of raw materials from vendors to manufacturing locations consistent with on going requirements, established inventory targets and allocated warehouse space. Work closely with plant personnel to maximize operational and cost efficiencies while maintaining the required customer service levels. Interface with suppliers to improve quality and cost of materials. Monitors supply/demand and balance for each ingredient and where necessary recommends blend changes to accommodate shortages and/or better utilize available supplies. Provide daily support to all manufacturing departments Develop and maintain a vendor quality program identifying issues and resolution Maintains and provides a monthly recap of each supplier who does not service according to specified arrival date. Ensures each supplier is advised of any delays outlining reasons and actions taken. Establish and maintain a reference check of all incoming materials which must pass quality inspection. Collaborate with the DGW Supervisor to evaluate and authorize the return of unsatisfactorily material & ensure timely replacement Maintains effective communication with accounting to ensure proper Bill of Lading and other documents are supplied and available when required. Collaborate with the Finance team on the quarterly audit of open POs against assigned materials and update accordingly. Assists Manager in preparation of annual budgets and other requirements as warranted. Participates in Plant Staff and Start Up Meetings as required Actively participate in plant CPS activities. Actively Support DGW cycle count and tag inventory processPosition Qualifications 5+ years experience in Supply Chain Planning in a manufacturing environment; consumer packaged goods highly desirable Back round in SAP APO production planning, SAP PP/MM and WMS a plus Ability to read, analyze and interpret quality procedures. Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with individuals at all levels of the organization. Must have strong PC skills with the ability to work with various applications and Microsoft Office.
