Manager of Industrial Hygiene/Safety

This is a corporate position that ensures compliance with Federal, State, and local Safety and Industrial Hygiene (IH) regulatory requirements and provides leadership and oversight for implementing Teva's Safety and IH Programs. This position will report to the Director of EH&S. Responsibilities: Lead and develop Teva USA's industrial hygiene (IH) function and initiatives. This corporate level position will report to the Director of EHS, and will be located in North Wales, PA. This position will be directly responsible for managing the IH functions and for providing leadership, direction and support to Teva USA in the following key areas: 1) Defining, maintaining, & communicating core IH program requirements & expectations; 2) Helping mentor, coach and train EHS operational teams to strengthen our IH capability and competency to meet requirements; 3) Ensure that compliance/ risk assurance processes within IH are robust (e.g. self identifying/ self correcting issues) and that we're effectively sharing Best Practices throughout the sites; 4) Developing, deploying and maintaining core central IH tools/ systems to simplify and stream line what it takes to meet IH program requirements; and, 5) Providing “˜Hands-on' support (as needed/ requested) to help the site operational EHS teams meet requirements. Candidates must have an advanced technical knowledge of IH, be able to integrate IH with other technical and business disciplines, and have the demonstrated ability to drive and influence the development of new principles, concepts and business results reflecting a broad range of stakeholder needs. This position will be part of cross site teams/ initiatives and will be responsible for risk reduction results. The candidate must also interface with key operational and functional EHS groups to ensure the successful development and execution of strategies in these key areas. Position requires the ability to partner with and influence senior business leaders. Candidate must be able to positively represent EHS to internal and external stakeholders. The candidate must have proven EHS leadership skills, and an ability to coach and lead a team of professionals. Excellent oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to lead and contribute in a team-based work environment are required. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Define, develop and lead Teva USA's industrial hygiene (IH) function and initiatives Define, maintain, and communicate core IH program requirements & expectations Mentor, coach and train EHS operational teams to strengthen IH capability & competency Ensure that compliance/ risk assurance processes within IH are robust (e.g. self identifying/ self correcting issues) and that we're effectively sharing Best Practices globally, Develop effective databases for IH data: analyze data, identify trends and ensure corrective actions are taken based on any negative trends, verify effectiveness of corrective actions, Develop, deploy and maintain core central IH tools/ systems to simplify and stream line what it takes to meet IH program requirements, Provide “˜Hands-on' support (as needed/ requested) to help site operational EHS teams meet requirements. Track/ monitor key IH legislative and regulatory developments, assess impacts and develop strategies to pro actively influence, mitigate, ensure Teva USA's conformance. Participate in cross site teams/ initiatives - demonstrated ability to lead, deliver needed business results and contribute in a team-based work environment. Requires the ability to partner with and influence business leaders Qualifications: To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following: Bachelors degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field, with a MS preferred At least 5-8 years of EHS experience with progressively increasing scope and responsibility. ACGIH CIH accreditation preferred Frequent travel throughout the USA is expected. Comprehensive understanding of EHS/ IH regulations, standards and requirements Proven track record of providing functional leadership in the definition, communication and execution of high impact IH programs, systems and initiatives Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
