Manager of Utilities, Energy and Maintenance 2761

Our client is looking for a Manager of Utilities, Energy and Maintenance to support its high temperature melting and forming manufacturing and distribution operations in Pittsburg, PA.  The right individual will relish the challenge and opportunity to “update” a facility and be creative enough to develop projects that will improve the existing processes and manufacturing operation. This position will report to the Plant Manager who is also based onsite. Some flexibility in work hours is required, as the plant runs 24 hours, seven days per week. Some travel will be required, 10% or less. Position Description: The successful candidate will manage all activities within Facilities Maintenance in the Operations group, insuring a reliable and cost effective equipment and utility operation for internal customers. Insure preventative and predictive maintenance systems are in place; tasks and required repair actions are properly prioritized and completed to assure maximum system reliability in a cost effective manner. Coordinate planned utilities work and outages across the facility to minimize disruptions to Plant Operations. Lead energy conservation efforts by developing new projects and highlighting opportunities. Insure all OSHA and environmental rules and regulations are adhered to and planned for. Develop a department focus on internal safety issues and solve them. Instill personal ownership for housekeeping in all Maintenance and Utilities Areas. Manage and lead the Maintenance workforce including recruitment, scheduling, performance reviews, training, and progressive discipline.Experience/Education Required/Sought:Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering is ideal, but Mechanical, Civil or related technical study would be acceptable. A minimum 7 to 10 years of relevant experience with a track record of success is required. Experience supervising contractors and managing contracts. Experience identifying and executing equipment improvements. Strong background in a planned, proactive maintenance environment. Experience with Lean process improvement techniques including TPM, TQM and 5S is required.  Prior experience in a union environment with multiple skilled trades is desired, but is not mandatory.
