Manufacturing Controller

  Purpose

Performing the role of Site Controller with overall responsibility for accounting, reporting and financial analysis for the Site and partnering with the business leaders and the local finance team in addressing global and site specific finance issues. This site consists of a significant, complex chemicals/reagent manufacturing facility and significant research and development facility of a multinational $1B business.

 Key Responsibilities

Site Controller is responsible for all accounting and financial reporting as well as analyzing significant accounting estimates, profitability and the results of operations for the Site and global activities related to locally produced products.  The Site Controller will help drive annual Corporate, statutory audits as well as continuing performance of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.  The Site Controller will also drive the compilation of the Site’s bi-annual operating plan and assist the various functional partners with preparation of their individual plans.  Specific responsibilities include:

Ø Review account reconciliations and accounting estimates for general ledger accounts.

Ø Assist in revenue optimization activities.

Ø Perform ad-hoc research and historical analysis utilizing varying data sources (ERP, data warehouse databases, consolidations packages, etc.) to help resolve issues that confront our business partners.

Ø Performing/reviewing recurring analysis of sales mix, unit pricing and profitability by product and business unit as well as site and territory revenue, cost and profitability analysis.

Ø Assist with the Site’s bi-annual operating plan by building “bottom’s up” functional plans for many administrative functions and consolidation of the Site functional plans as well as sales, orders, cost and balance sheet plans into the SBU operating plan.

Ø Oversee US consolidated payroll accounting for all US sites.

Ø Attend Site leadership meetings to represent accounting/finance functions and provide support to the site leaders.

Ø Continually drive productivity and quality improvements without accounting department

Ø Identify and document site accounting issues including keeping current on technical accounting pronouncements and other guidance.

Ø Assist in assessment and planning of new system implementations which would include site testing and readiness analysis.  Critical Success Factors 

 

Ø Technical Skills: 7+ years manufacturing accounting/finance experience and/or Big 4/regional public accounting firm experience required. Knowledge of Oracle 11i and/or HFM a plus; must be a problem solver who is driven to learn and have a bias for action.  Past supervisory experience also a plus.
