Manufacturing Director
Position ID: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Manufacturing/Production/Operations Type: Full Time, Employee The Manufacturing Director will take responsibility for all manufacturing activities located in Mesa, AZ. These activities include both glass and panel manufacturing and are likely to include new products that remain under development today. The Manufacturing Director will play a key role in structuring and defining processes that will be replicated by manufacturing partners and facilities around the world. This senior level position is critical to the global success of the company. It is expected that the Manufacturing Director develop both the existing and new manufacturing facilities into "best-in-class" manufacturing sites, to be used as global models for the manufacturing and supply chain management organizations. In this role the Director will be responsible for the full manufacturing organization and related activities in Arizona, including between 30 and 60 professionals and manufacturing personnel. The Director will be responsible to build his/her own manufacturing team and will both manage and complete build on quality execution systems, manufacturing management processes, automation and process development, lean and six sigma based quality and process improvement efforts, and supporting supply chain and business systems. Primary Responsibilities- Manufacturing management and optimization for both custom mirror and panel assembly operations.- Automation process and improvement project deployment (also leadership on project management).- Lean and six sigma process/quality improvement.- QES, MES system implementation and management.- Definition and delivery of key manufacturing milestones, including maximizing quality and volume output in AZ. Qualifications and Experience- Technical Degree (Engineering preferred), Advanced Degree (IE, Mfg. Management, etc).- Manufacturing Management and Engineering background.- Quality background (LEAN, Six Sigma, etc).- Strong communication skills.- 10+ years in manufacturing management role.- 5+ years in senior/director level role in manufacturing or operations management.- Large volume manufacturing background (eg. semiconductor, CE, or other).- Quality management experience (LEAN, Six Sigma, etc).- Experience growing/building new operation(s) / manufacturing organizations and plants.- Success delivering to demanding quality and volume requirements. Skills- Excellent/proven written, verbal, interpersonal, organizational, team work, and management skills.- Proficiency with typical software tools for management (MS office, Project, etc).- Understanding of MES and QES systems.- Understanding of Oracle or other ERP tools is a plus.- Spanish and/or Mandarin Proficiency is a plus.
