Manufacturing Engineer - Entry Level, Machining/CNC Programming

WaterSaver Faucet Co. manufactures specialized precision valves and faucets for science laboratories.  We are a third-generation, family-owned company that has been in business for over sixty years.  Our products are used all over the world and we are the worldwide leader in our industry.

 

Our headquarters and main manufacturing facility are located in a modern 80,000 square foot building located just north of downtown Chicago.  This facility is easily accessed from the Kennedy Expressway (I90) and public transportation.  We also operate a smaller facility in Monterrey, Mexico for manufacturing component parts.

The Position:

Due to strong growth in our business and our commitment to continuous improvement in our manufacturing processes, we have created a new position for an entry-level manufacturing engineer for our machining operations.  Responsibilities of this position include:

 

· Oversee machining operations, including creating routings and process documentation for manufacture of components;

· Create, edit and optimize programs for CNC turning and machining centers;

· Implement lean manufacturing techniques in machining and other factory operations.

 

Qualifications:

We require a hands-on professional with initiative, self-confidence, ambition and the ability to identify problems, think through options and implement solutions.  Specifically, the ideal candidate for this position will have the following qualifications:

 

· 2- or 4-year degree and some related experience (through prior work, coop, and/or internship) in a manufacturing environment. 

· Knowledge of machine tool operations and close tolerance machining.

· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and then translate blueprint data into machining requirements.

· Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.

· Knowledge of AutoCad and ProE software.
