Manufacturing Engineer III

Day to Day Responsibilities:

- Assist a team of engineers to provide production support and troubleshooting for a 24/7 manufacturing operation.  Work with production associates and technicians to ensure reliable equipment operation.

- Support process and product optimization/improvement efforts.  Develop engineering plans for innovative solutions to technical problems and follow through to implementation.

- Assist with manufacturing scale-up of new products.

- Provide training for engineers and/or production associates as needed for new processes or equipment.

- Serve on weekend production support team approximately every 5-6 weeks.

- Lead or participate in capital projects.

 

Projects involved with:

- Ownership of production equipment

- Scale-up of new processes

- Process improvement projects with emphasis on lean manufacturing

- Capital projects with focus on maintenance of business or cost reduction

 

Role within group:

- Individual contributor working in a team based group

- Primary responsibility will be to support manufacturing processes

 

Required Skills:

- Technical background in BS/MS Engineering Discipline

- Strong computer skills required (MS Word, Excel, Access, or equivalent).

- Strong statistical analysis skills desired but not required.

 

Soft Skills:

- Able to communicate equally well with engineers, production associates, and managers

- Able to work in a team-oriented environment

- Self motivated

- Able to handle multiple priorities

 

Required Education:

BS or MS in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Ceramics Engineering

 

Required Years and Area of Experience:

2+ years in Engineering desired
