Manufacturing Engineer Lean Experience Desired

A leading life and laboratory science client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who will responsible for recommending and applying engineering methods and procedures to improve product quality to keep plant operational, eliminate waste, reduce cycle time, and improve operating performance.  The Manufacturing Engineer will provide technical support to manufacturing departments through the collection and processing of information relating to assigned projects, followed by evaluation of all information and alternatives resulting in recommendations for a course of action to management. The Manufacturing Engineer will provide appropriate engineering services to management including: Evaluate economic feasibility of capital projects and prepare justifications. Develop machine/manpower requirements and utilization for long-range business plans. Review and recommend manpower utilization. Prepare appropriate manufacturing policies and procedures. Resolve shop floor technical issues to achieve shop throughput and quality goals. Recommend Manufacturing processes and procedures, tools and equipment, layouts and methods to improve: Flexibility - Energy Utilization - Set-up Time - Value Added Operations - Mfg. Cycle Time Material Utilization - Quality - FDA GMP ISO-9000 - P.M. Program - Third Party Certification Program - Safety - Customer Satisfaction/Internal and External Actively participate in product development cycle to optimize product productivity. Review and approve Engineering Change Requests (ECRs). Establish and maintain shop labor standards. Work on Continuous Quality Improvement and support all PPI projects. Candidates will have a B.S. degree in engineering and a minimum two years of related experience. Also a have thorough working knowledge of various sheet metal fabrication and welding procedures and practices; a working knowledge of hard goods manufacturing processes and machinery; a good analytical ability to analyze present procedures and make recommendations for improvement to management. Must be able to resolve complex problems, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate same across department boundaries and with all levels of management.
