Manufacturing Engineer (Quality)

Generates, communicates, and maintains an overall plan for the continuing operation and planned improvement of the operations and plant equipment to insure the long-term success of the manufacturing operations.

Coordinates/manages plant construction and plant equipment installation to meet facilities/operations objectives at or below budgeted cost and schedule

Conducts the technical evaluation and selection of manufacturing equipment to meet production requirements.

Analyzes production work flow, space needs and designs plant and equipment layout for maximum efficiency using lean six-sigma principles.

Serves as the liaison between production management and contractors and architectural/engineering firms for proper layout and installation of any plant modifications.

Coordinates with plant manager, purchasing and vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, and materials to quality standards.

Provides economic and technical instructions for proposed facility capital project implementation.

Works with plant management and purchasing to generate applicable purchase agreements for capital projects.

Develops and implements procedure capital requests and approvals through put the division.

Directs the division’s preventative maintenance program to ensure consistent program is implemented and followed to mitigate unplanned equipment down time.

Responsible for coordinating division capital budgets, tracking and monthly/yearly reporting.

Works closely with the HSE group to ensure that all equipment, processes, and facilities meet local, state, and federal regulations.

 

BS or BT in Industrial Engineering. Five years in manufacturing related service required.  The incumbent must have a thorough knowledge of plant equipment and processes, plant engineering functions, applicable governmental regulations and safety procedures, usually gained through experience.

 

The incumbent must have a track record in the successful application of sound management principles.

 

Lean Six Sigma experience is desirable.

 

Experience with SAP R3 is desirable.
