We are looking for a Manufacturing MES Project Leader with Information Technology and/or Controls expertise at our Columbus, Indiana location. Primary responsibility includes leading the design, development and implementation of the Next Generation - Manufacturing Execution System.The NG-MES or Next Generation - Manufacturing Execution System is a program strategy devised to replace our existing manufacturing execution systems with a common, modern, reliable, standards-based application set that can be cost effectively maintained. This program also serves to produce the MES application blueprint that would be recommended for new Cummins and/or Joint Venture entities.Responsibility includes:Building and executing plans to take the high-level functional requirements to an approved contract. This position will work closely with manufacturing business, controls engineering and IT leadership at both the Corporate and plant levels to execute these requirements. The individual in this role will manage the NG-MES forward into design, development and acceptance test. This individual will also coordinate planning, implementation and support of the NG-MES working closely with site teams and contract developers and integrators. Requirements for this position include:Bachelor's degree in related discipline. Advanced degree a plus.Manufacturing Operations Literacy with a minimum of 5 years Manufacturing experience.Strong Project Management skills, Planning, Prioritizing, and Goal SettingUnderstanding and experience with MES systems Engine Assembly Execution and Controls Systems Expertise. Knowledge of or Interest in Learning MESA Models, ISA-95 standards and OPC technologiesExperience working with custom and/or COTS MES solutions such as Rockwell Automation Datasweep, Apriso Flexnet, Siemens Simatic IT, GE Proficy, VisipriseExperience with process improvement using 6-sigma DMAIC or DFSSStructured Development Lifecycle and Development MethodologiesProject Management Methodologies (ITPM/ITSPM) and/or PMP certifiedExternal Suppliers Relationship Management Internal Customer Relationship ManagementFinancial Planning and ManagementChange Management experienceCompensation: Base salary commensurate with experience plus bonus.
