Manufacturing Machinist/Maintenance Tech
We have an excellent opportunity for you to join a growing global automotive supplier as a Manufacturing Machinist/Maintenance Technician at our Duncan, South Carolina location.
One position available on 1st shift and 2nd.

OVERVIEW:Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Under minimal supervision, performs complex machine work involved with the manufacture of gauging and fixturing to supply necessary machine tooling required in the production of assembly products in addition to providing set-up and assembly of gauging and fixturing.
· Plans, lays out and performs complex machining operations and bench work to construct and repair fixtures, tools, dies, and gauges used in manufacturing assemblies process to meet customer quality requirements.
· Performs complex machining utilizing various tool room equipment (mills, lathes, surface grinder, drills, I.D./O.D. grinder, E.D.I.) to provide component parts, support tooling, and gage production support tooling.
· Must have good understanding of blueprints and the ability to interpret blueprints to manufacture, assembly, and set-up component parts pertaining to production of gauging, fixturing, and production support tooling.
· Must have a thorough understanding of operations and procedural uses of measurement equipment such as micrometers, height gages, scales, calipers, etc., in order to measure and calibrate dimensional accuracies of manufactured parts.
· Must have ability to troubleshoot production tooling.
· Perform complex machining to turn raw material into finished tools, gages, or fixtures.
· Work to close tolerances, ensuring quality workmanship on all tool, gages, and fixtures.
· Work closely with Engineering to ensure all equipment builds are built to exact specifications.
· Make recommendations to continuously improve Benteler’s equipment, tool gages, and fixtures.
· Assists supervisor with all focus team activities (action plans, 8D-CCN, scrap, PPM, etc.),
Other Duties will include:
· Duties include the application of one or more craft skills, (i.e. mechanical, electrical, welding, pipe fitting & machining) to install, fabricate, troubleshoot, repair, move & maintain a wide variety of production & related equipment, facilities equipment, buildings and systems at a journeyman level.
· Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains a wide variety of complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic equipment and systems such as motors, pumps, piping systems, conveyor systems, AGVs, PLCs, production machinery and instrumentation equipment.
· Installs new machinery and equipment and moves machinery and equipment to affect layout changes as required. Work may include operations, such as rigging, moving, erecting, aligning, and making necessary hook-ups, placing equipment in proper operating condition.
· Performs preventative maintenance activities of all types, including the most critical types requiring extensive dismantling, re-assemble, and critical adjustment, lubrication, and/or calibration. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Must have strong industrial maintenance background.
· Strong oral and written communication, excellent computer skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize work requirements, and attention to detail are essential.
· While performing the duties of this job, the associate, is required to stand for extended periods of time without sitting as well as stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, lifting or crawling.
· Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Qualification Requirements:
Education:
· High School Diploma
· Journeyman/Certificate of Apprenticeship in Tool and Die
· Certification in electronics, electrical, HVAC, machining, and mechanical theory
Experience:
· 3-5 years experience in general production maintenance including craft skills (i.e., mechanical, electrical, welding, fabrication, and machining) to install, fabricate, troubleshoot, repair, move, and maintain a wide variety of production and related equipment, facilities equipment, buildings, and systems at journeyman level.
· Proficient in all machine operations: grinders, mills, drill presses, Lathes and stamping presses.
· Proficient in trigonometry, familiar with springs and self-contained nitrogen cylinders used in strippers.

· Must provide hand tools and tool box.
· Must have valid Forklift Operator’s license or pass required training
· Must not have a medical condition that would cause a safety hazard while performing assigned duties
