John Crane, a worldwide technology leader in the Mechanical Seals and Systems industry, seeks an exceptional Manufacturing/Operations Manager for a dynamic and growing business unit. This position provides leadership and expertise to develop and maintain an organization delivering world class technical products to globally recognized customers.

The successful candidate will be a high-energy and results motivated leader with success in people motivation and development, team building, and change management.





MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree in Engineering, or business with significant demonstrable technical and operations management experience

• 10 years minimum experience in a range of operational and commercial roles with a clear path of increasing responsibility

• Management of a business or major department including expense and capital budgeting, proforma P&L management and full accountability for the performance of that business unit

• Exposure to direct customer interaction

• Experience in process industry rotating equipment manufacture / assembly / test a significant advantage

• Understanding of metal machining and machine tools (preferably in high mix / low volume very high precision stainless steel applications), mechanical assembly and dynamic testing of rotating equipment

• Expertise in managing projects

• Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma successes

• Ability to interact with, motivate, and effectively manage professional, managerial, and direct labor personnel

• Experience in working with international suppliers and manufacturing operations

• Ability to clearly communicate and sell ideas in written and oral form

• Experience with Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety management systems and ERP systems
