Manufacturing Shipping Supervisor

Report to:  Shipping Manager 

 

 

General Summary:  Directs and coordinates, through subordinate hourly personnel, daily activities

  of Shipping, Warehouse and Hardware employees.

 

Essential Functions: Includes the following.  Other duties may be assigned.Assist Shipping Manager by identifying work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedite workflow.Issue written and oral instructions.  Schedules the loading of full truckloads.Creates orders and prints pick lists; designating manufacturing or warehouse.Follows up on orders, looking ahead to determine when to loading scheduleAssist printing paperwork and posting orders as shipped in SAPAssist gathering freight charges. Schedules trucks through our carriers GSC and Land Star.Check stock out for warehouse.Communicates with customers and customer service.Orders supplies.Responsible for housekeeping and safe working conditions and practices.Enforcing company polices and maintains good employee relations.Checks Schmidt orders.

 

Other Functions:Other duties as assigned by Shipping Manager.Helps load trucks if needed.

 

Qualification/Requirements;Ability to read, analyze and interpret written instructions.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficient computer skills.Demonstrated leadership skills.

 Education/Training/Experience:Prefer some college with minimum four years leadership experience in shipping environment or applicable experience
