Manufacturing / Supplier Planner

Progressive (Lean-driven) manufacturing company in Glendale Heights is seeking a Planner to perform the following functions:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ·  Coordinate with commercial group for forecasting and planning production schedules as well as maintaining and improving customer service and delivery performance.

·  Review and respond to MRP messages to optimize inventory positions.

·  Responsible for KBM system integrity, insuring proper planning signals are generated.

·  Manage E-KanBan and other visual systems as needed.

·  Work with operations team to best utilize resource capacity.

·  Monitor raw materials, WIP levels and finished goods inventories.

·  Create daily production schedule, along with the issuing of “Shop Work Orders”.

·  Manage exceptions – delays, unforeseen problems etc.

·  Coordinate (with product engineering), design changes, product improvements, and new product introduction; communicating this information to suppliers.

·  Expedite internally and externally supplied materials to ensure build goals are attainable.

Qualifications:Must possess a minimum of three years planning experience within a manufacturing/production/assembly environment.Must be familiar with Lean Manufacturing principles.Must possess knowledge in KanBan systems.A two/four-year degree is preferred.
