Manufacturing Systems Support Specialist

DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing, troubleshooting and break fixing of shop floor IT systems
- Performing basic systems administration of shop floor systems including user account management, system monitoring and reporting, triage and troubleshooting of server and desktop operating systems and applications
- Providing primary and secondary support for shop floor systems during normal business hours and will be required to be on call off-hours on a scheduled basis
- Serving as a project manager or team lead on small projects and will be a team member on plant and Global Business Solutions Division (GBS) projects related to shop floor manufacturing systems
- Conducting formal and informal training of production
- Supporting and maintaining personnel on shop floor systems
- Preparing and maintaining systems documentation
- Overseeing the change management processes between vendors, end-users and GBS.
- Researching testing and evaluating new technologies related to shop floor systems
- Working with GBS to perform installation, configuration, testing and support of new shop floor system components during projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Degree in Automation Engineering or Computer Science or similar program preferred
- A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience maintaining shop floor systems
- A strong background and competency in Microsoft Windows XP and Windows Server 2000 operating systems is required
- Must possess a basic understanding of application client-server architecture and TCP/IP network communications protocol
- An understanding of functional concepts and how individual parts of the shop floor system such as PLCs, HMIs, networking and applications interact with each other
- The ability to learn basic system administration tasks as needed
