OVERVIEW
Support production requirements while minimizing inventories.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Determine component shortages to plan and expedite deliveries.

• Forecast monthly material purchases and material price variance.

• Provide support and interface with other departments.

• Ensures compliance to Standards of Business Conduct through familiarity with related policies and procedures. Trains and motivates associates in the importance of full compliance with the letter and spirit of such policies and procedures.

• Manage assets and inventory consistent with strategic business plan.

• Support plant cost improvement and implement material performance programs.

• Expedite and coordinate material shipments.

• Analyze parts demands and issue requirements to vendors to meet product orders.

• Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality system.

• Identify and record any product, process, and quality system problems.

• Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.

• Verify the implementation of solutions.

• Control further processing, delivery, or installation of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected as defined by applicable procedures and/or delegation of the area manufacturing manager.


QUALIFICATIONS
• APICS Certification, Certified Purchasing Manager, and/or a four year degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or five years of experience in either purchasing or inventory management.

• Experience and knowledge of MRP systems, inventory management, and quality systems.

• Material flow knowledge in assembly.

• Ability to use computerized planning systems.
