Measurement Senior Project Leader

Day to Day Responsibilities:
* Hands-on on involvement with the design, develop, and implementation of measurement
equipment and techniques
* Provide leadership and coordination with team members and equipment suppliers
* Identify and work to resolve gaps between the attribute and technology roadmap and existing measurement capability
* Work with scientists, researchers, and/or suppliers to understand the first principles of
various measurement systems and propose, lead, and develop improvements and or
enhancements as required
* Drive the requirements for mechanical, electrical and software specifications for
measurement machine design
* Design experiments to evaluate gauging technology; solid understanding of statistical
methods / analysis is required
* Direct the development software for gauge / sensor evaluations. Candidate should have
aptitude in Visual Basic and/or Visual C++ .
* Coordinate the transfer of technology for new gauging systems to domestic and international
plants
* Perform advanced troubleshooting and/or coordinating problem solving efforts
Projects involved with:
* Measurement of product attributes for LCD substrates (stress, thickness, sag, waviness,
cord/streak, surface quality, etc.)
* Measurement of Large Size substrates
Role within group:
* Provide hands-on technical leadership
* Project management, ability to direct team members, track and control spending
* Provide equipment understanding and apply with process understanding to integrate into
manufacturing.
* Provide a key link between for measurement systems from early stage into manufacturing.
* Manage equipment supplier to ensure performance and schedule
Travel: 20-30% travel, including international, may be required for this position

Required Skills:
* Engineering background and experience in Measurement system design
* Solid understanding of measurement technology and testing methods
* Experience working with outside suppliers and machine integrators
* Understanding of optics
* Excellent organizational and communication skills
* Willingness to travel internationally
Desired Skills:
* Computer programming experience (Visual Basic, Visual C++, PLC, robotics)
* Understanding of statistics
* Previous experience with international travel
Soft Skills:
* Ability to work among a diverse group
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Education and Experience:
* Engineering degree (prefer ME / EE)
* Minimum of 5 years experience in measurement field
