Mechanical Assembler/Machinist

  Whitney Systems Inc. conveniently located in Chelmsford, Ma off Rte. 3 is seeking an Mechanical Technician/Machinist.



RESPONSIBILITIESFabricate parts for machinery. Including use of milling machines & lathes. Fabricate, erect, install, and maintain machinery.  Including knowlege of tig welding. Troubleshoot machinery. Knowledge of mechanical and automated components. Knowledge of pneumatics & hydraulics. Maintain and secure work tools. Clean and maintain work area. Other duties as assigned.

 

Mechanical repair, installation, modification, and troubleshooting to the component level of production machinery.

Dismantle, adjust, repair and assemble equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, schematics, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches, drawings or as directed by manufacturing engineers.

Ability to develop & document maintenance procedures for production machinery.

 

Requirements

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; Self-motivated able to sustain high performance standards in unstructured/ unsupervised situations.

Proficiency with test and diagnostic equipment (Multi-meter, Pressure meter, etc) and measuring instruments.

 

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, machine prints, maintenance manuals, and engineering sketches.

 

Experience with PLCs desired (Hardware and/or Software).

Ability to lift and hold up to 60 pounds. 
Ability to lift over one’s head is required.

 

 

Ability to program PLC’s a plus but not required.
