Job Purpose:
Perform engineering duties in planning and designing solvent recovery equipment, effluent decontamination systems for bio-research labs and skid mounted process systems. Pressure vessels and piping are integral to all products.

Duties: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports. Apply the principles of heat transfer, steam, pressure and/or vacuum in the design of systems and perform related calculations including load balancing. Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and manufacturing requirements of designs or applications. Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications. Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles. Assist drafters and other engineers in developing the design of products using computer-assisted design (CAD) or other software. Develop designs using AutoCAD, APV ASME software and CADWorx piping software to modify or improve prior designs and to incorporate latest design basis into products. Review CAD drawings made by others for accuracy, compliance with specifications and suitability for manufacturing. Calculate ASME vessel designs using Advanced Pressure Vessel ASME software.
Skills/Qualifications:
Computer aided design CAD software — Autodesk AutoCAD; CADWorx Piping Design; Advanced Pressure Vessel ASME Code software.
Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
Design — Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, drawings, and models
Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Physics — Knowledge and prediction of physical principles, laws, their interrelationships, and applications to understanding fluid, material, and mechanical, electrical, and processes.
