Providing temperature-controlled environments for food and other perishables are essential in today’s global market. Through our Climate Control Technologies sector and Thermo King and Hussmann brands, we provide global solutions for the transportation and retail refrigeration market.





We are currently seeking an experienced Trailer Platform Mechanical Engineer, Level III, at our Minneapolis, MN location.



This position encompasses the following :

This position will primarily provide product design engineering support of trailer refrigeration units. This support will be truly global in nature. Collaboration with worldwide TK employees, vendors, dealers, and customers will be frequent. Other responsibilities include providing engineering expertise for system design, design verification calculations, component design and selection, project scheduling and documentation, testing and evaluation, and knowledge of relevant industry standards.
Apply technical and practical knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals to create excellent products that meet reliability, schedule, cost, and quality goals.
Evaluate/test systems and components for reliability, safety and performance and make recommendations.
Identify and develop necessary relationships with TK personnel (sales, marketing, management, manufacturing, supply management, service and engineering) as well as vendors and outside technical resources. Use these relationships for business needs as well as personal development.
Maintain orderly project records and unit bills of material. Communicate and document work progress as required through verbal and written means.
Value and integrate conflicting worldwide input into critical decisions.
Maintain current technical skills and understanding of professional standards. Take responsibility for the continuing development of his/her career.



Qualifications :

Requirements for this position include a BS degree in mechanical engineering, computer skills, excellent communication skills, and demonstrated success working in a multicultural team environment. Refrigeration system knowledge, basic electrical background, and Pro-E modeling skills are desired; along with second language proficiency (preference is for Spanish, Portuguese, or Mandarin).
5 + years related work experience.
