Mechanical Inspector

Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for performing a variety of routine, semi-routine and complex inspection procedures to ensure quality levels at various stages of production.

Specific Responsibilities:Perform first piece, in-process and finished machined parts, production assemblies, and sub-assemblies for conformance to quality assurance standards. Accurately completes all quality control documentation such as non-conforming material, travelers and control charts. Follows verbal and/or written instructions such as blueprints, traveler, work instruction, process specifications, sketches, and direction of supervisor in completing a variety of inspection tasks. Verify inspection equipment, machinery, and tools used are calibrated per company standards. Performs other duties as assigned to maintain efficiency throughout the company.

Qualifications:Minimum five years mechanical inspection experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret machining and fabrication drawings, including a thorough understanding of geometric tolerancing as outlined by ANSI Y14.5. Competency in using CMM equipment (Zeiss a plus). Competency in statistical process control (Mituoyo MeasurLink a plus). Proficiency in MS Windows (Word, Excel), Lotus Notes, and SAP. Strong clerical and math skills including calculations of simple trigonometry formulas. Team player with ability to work with minimal supervision and interface with all departments. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
