This position is responsible for the following major duties:
- Assembly of microturbine units.
- Completion of sub-assemblies and component assemblies to meet tolerances and product specifications.
- Assembly of fabricated parts at floor stations using bills of material, drawings, engineering specifications, and quality control documents.
- Performance of all primary mechanical portions of assembly, using hand and power tools.
- Identification of non-conforming or out of tolerance components, using measurement tools.
- Responsiblity for repairs to non-conforming components, while relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Performance of a variety of complicated tasks. Duties and tasks are frequently non-routine.
- Other duties: May need to flex to other areas in the plant - material handling, receiving, shipping, production test and development test.

Education Standard: High School diploma or equivalent is required
Education Type: Mechanical training

1. Must be capable of performing all non-specialized mechanical assembly operations of subassemblies and package assembly including associated in-process quality checks and tests, plus finishing work and final packaging.
2. Must have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, assembly instructions, bills of material, and quality control documents. Take responsibility for quality and work content performed in the applicable operation by signing off on the appropriate documentation prior to indexing to the next step in process.
3. Must exhibit / demonstrate the ability to use correct tooling, fixturing and equipment to perform work tasks to engineering specifications. Must insure that all tools used in performing job duties are within calibration, as stated on calibration sticker.
4. Must be able to function in a flexible team environment. Must be willing and capable of flexing into other operations jobs as required.
5. Must be capable of performing job duties with limited supervision.
6. Must exhibit a high degree of manual dexterity with great attention to detail and workmanship.
7. Must exhibit a high degree of responsibility for safety to self, to others, for equipment, and materials. Must maintain clean, orderly, and safe work area and follow all safety rules and procedures. Ability to identify safety concerns and drive for successful resolution.
8. Must be willing to work to get the job done under overtime hours inclusive of Saturdays and Sundays.
9. Must be capable of acquiring a material handler license and operate fork trucks and other material handling equipment.
