The LED Sign Company is looking for skilled fabricators for day shift position. The position is located near the Greenspoint area. This position is responsible for fabricating, welding and working with an Iron Worker. Candidates must be able to work well independently or in a team. Candidates must be self motivated with mathematical and mechanical aptitude. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proven attention to accuracy and detail. Candidate must be safety conscious. Must have metal fabrication experience, excellent work history, able to pass a background and drug screen.

 

The ideal candidate should have the ability to utilize the following equipment with direct supervision and training: Mig welding machines, saw, cranes, fork truck, oxyacetylene and plasma torches and measuring equipment. Additionally be familiar with welding procedures.

 

Works in a safe manner and follows safety regulations. Keep the work area clean and organized.

 

Essential Functions:Performs Mig welding with.Determine correct size of material to be welded including OD size, minimum wall thickness and material grade.Makes welds according to appropriate weld procedures verifying base metals, joint design, position, filler metal, gas to be used, amp/voltage range and thickness range.Cut with oxyacetylene torch.Use measuring devices including measuring tape, micrometers and calipers.Observes machine operation and learns to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.Performs related duties as assigned by supervision.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Must live and be authorized to work in the U.S. in Houston, TX

 

Education:  Trade School

 

Compensation: Compensation base on experience.

 

Required experience: Welding school attendee or graduate. Aptitude for learning. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
