Metals Buyer/Trader

Aleris is seeking a Metals Buyer/Trader to join the Metals team at our Corporate Offices in Beachwood, OH. This individual will be responsible for maximizing the purchase of low cost scrap metal material for use in production at all Aleris facilities. This individual will work with current vendors and also work out in the field to bring on new customers and accounts to Aleris.  

 

 Responsibilities Include:

Maintain contact with customers and various commercial teams in order to maintain current vendor relationships

Gain access to new purchasing opportunities for Aleris by meeting with new vendors and customers out in the field

Compile and analyze weekly/monthly data

Maintain database

Assist in strategic planning process

Knowledge of current market activity by observing market trends

Communicate with plant representative to direct purchases and status of monthly metal plans

Complete additional assignments as required

Lead day-to-day activities of Aleris’ Customer Scrap program in support of divisional objectives

 

Requirements Include:

Bachelor degree in Business related field, or equivalent work experience

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and organizational skills are essential

Ability to prepare and deliver presentations regarding project results

Strong decision making and problem solving skills, relying on manager direction when necessary

Highly motivated, goal oriented, ethical, and challenge driven

Maintain professional positive attitude and appearance and the ability to interface with all levels of the organization

Ability to work in a fast paced environment

Proficient in Microsoft Office
