Mgr, Sourcing

ACCO Brands Corporation, one of the world’s largest suppliers of branded office products with annual revenues of nearly $2 billion, is currently seeking a Planning Manager for our Supply Chain team at corporate headquarters in Lincolnshire, IL.  This position will plan and execute sound, logical and achievable sourcing strategies, develop and manage formal plans to improve cost, quality, and supplier performance, and develop and manage a diverse supplier base that will deliver the appropriate financial and service performance for current and new products.We are seeking candidates with a strong understanding of the Asian supplier base, with experience evaluating and conducting supply chain business with off-shore vendors (namely China).


 

This role will implement and execute an identified sourcing strategy to support the objectives of attaining the lowest total supply chain cost. This includes make/buy analysis and supplier identification. This role will develop the necessary supplier base to provide current and new product development needs in capacity, services, costs and supply performance, develop the metrics necessary to insure the above performance is met, and review performance and correct as necessary.

 

We are seeking individuals who have the vision, and gain the necessary product knowledge to recommend potential new products to improve the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) sales, in order to lead make/buy reviews to make the necessary decisions for the business.  You will communicate and interact with all disciplines within the business unit, including ACCO's Central Services, to ensure understanding of the set strategies, set goals and targets, and attain a degree of consistency and effectiveness in the sourcing activity.  You will also establish procurement/supplier milestone schedules and insure schedule adherence as agreed upon by the transition team.  Candidates must be able to articulate clearly the strategy, metrics of performance and take the appropriate actions necessary to insure success.

 

Responsibilities for this position also include the negotiation for contracts for finished goods/raw materials in support of the business unit's product lines. You will create and finalize supply agreements with strategic suppliers, build strong business relationships, have strategic thinking, solid business acumen and the ability to effectively communicate solid decision making abilities and interpersonal influence.

 

* Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field required.

* Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) certification preferred.

* Must have substantial experience sourcing in China for purchased finished goods.  An understanding of the Asian supplier base, evaluating, and conducting business with off-shore suppliers is essential. 

* Must have five years of world-class international purchasing and operations experience.

* Excellent oral and written skills along with creative problem solving abilities is required.

* Commitment to internal and external customer service is essential.

* Ability to trave. up to 50% (up to two weeks at a time).
