Position Overview
Performs various skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the set-up, operation and maintenance of the pilot plant molds and equipment, including troubleshooting of minor tooling and machine problems.

Responsibilities Test, maintain and evaluate equipment and machine performance to ensure efficient operations. Set-up molds, waterlines, temperature controllers, and other mold peripherals.Start-up, and cycle-in molds/processes according to process set-up sheets, and monitor machine settings...Perform mold and insert changes as needed, including some minor mold cleaning and maintenance.Perform standard mold record keeping practices and molding process reporting.Assist Process Engineer in molding experiments, DOE and data recording.Confer with Principal Molding Manager to establish schedules for mold changes and molding runs connected with the pilot schedule.Maintain written procedures for standard molding and set-up for molds, machines and equipment.Perform work in accordance with sound safety practices.

Qualifications

3 –5 years injection molding experience; prior mold set-up experience; experience in the handling of primary and auxiliary molding equipment; high school diploma or higher; demonstrated track record as a follower, leader and “problem solver”.
