NQA-1 Quality Engineer

Job Summary:

 

This position is responsible for implementing requirements and driving the Quality Performance of critical projects (i.e. NQA-1) throughout manufacturing, from procurement of items and services through shipping and delivery of final product. Additional activities of the incumbent are familiarization and support of this location’s Quality Management System.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

· Knowledge of NQA-1 Quality Requirements.

· Direct and organize specific Customer contractual requirements throughout Projects including, required processes, tests, and inspections, witness or hold points, and the review and management of required documentation, records, and reports.

· Provide the driving force to ensure that assigned projects meet the requirements of the Customer’s Contracts or Purchase Orders.

· Provide the Voice of Quality for any production operations utilized on assigned projects.

 

Specific Experience:

· Experienced in machining and assembly processes; valve manufacturing experience or similar is greatly desired.

· Familiar with processes such as machining, casting, forging, welding, coatings, and assembly.

· Familiar with visual, dimensional, and nondestructive testing techniques.

· Familiar with mechanical testing and material properties.

 

Desired Abilities:

· Self-starter with ability to determine requirements and direct various operations to fulfill requirements.

· Experienced with computers and various software programs (i.e. MS Office, Oracle, etc.).

· Ability to learn and utilize Flowserve’s Quality System Management Program.

· Experienced with various codes, standards, and specifications (i.e. ASME, AWS, ASTM, ISO, CFRs, etc).

· Ability to review, edit, and create procedures and work instructions.

· Ability to provide specific training to personnel.

· Experience as an Auditor.

· Ability to support the Sr. NQA-1 Quality Engineer as directed and assumes responsibilities in their absence.

 

Qualifications:Any national or international certifications (i.e. CQA, CQE, AWS-CWI, ASNT Level III, etc). 4-year degree in a technical or scientific field (experience, additional training, Trade or Technical training may substitute for the degree requirement). 5-years Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing operation.
