New Product Development Engineer, Mechanical

InVue Security Products Inc. is a growing organization with the vision to be the global leader of innovative secure merchandise solutions.  Our purpose is to provide global retailers with innovative security products that securely place merchandise in full view.  We are headquartered in Charlotte, NC with sales and production sites across the globe.  We are looking for a skilled and experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to work in our New Product Development department in Charlotte, NC. 

The Project Engineer will develop products of moderate complexity with minimum supervision from a Design Manager.  Products are taken from concept through design, qualification, and into successful production. 

 Responsibilities include:

1.  Working closely with Product Marketing, demonstrate design intent and concept feasibility through CAD solid models and physical prototypes as needed.

2.  Create complex 3-D surface and solid Pro/Engineer CAD models of new products as well as detailed engineering drawings to support manufacturing.

3.  Through analysis, determine and optimize the design.

4.  Develop products in accordance with 3 key objectives: security/functionality, ease-of-use, and aesthetics.

5.  Work with cross functional team including Electronics Engineering, Industrial Design, Marketing, Manufacturing & Quality to achieve product goals.

6.  Schedule meetings to review product design in each phase of engineering.

7.  Develop and track test plans to qualify designs.

8.  Provide assistance in determining product goals.

9.  Plan and manage resources to meet schedules.

10. Clearly and frequently communicate with all functional areas.

11. Develop standards, procedures and compliance there of.

12. Support manufacturing as needed for manufacturing engineering change requests.

 

Knowledge:

1.  Apply proper principles of drawing, dimensioning, Tolerancing. 

2.  Understand and apply current techniques for design of plastic parts for injection molding and  manufacturing assembly.

3.  Thoroughly familiar with and experienced in processes used to produce parts and assemble products.

4.  Tollgate product development process experience

 

Education:

BSME required.  5 yrs post-graduate engineering experience or equivalent experience is required.
