Operational Excellence Manager

Draka Elevator Products, a worldwide supplier to the elevator industry, is seeking an Operational Excellence Manager for our headquarters operation in Rocky Mount, NC who is an outgoing and motivated individual. This position requires a background in Lean Manufacturing with Six Sigma Black Belt experience and program / project management with a skill set centered on continuous improvement in order to achieve significant impact to the business.

We are a growing company and require an individual who can provide leadership in all aspects lean manufacturing. This position must interface with other department managers to strategize, define, and resolve complex issues.

 

There is a heavy emphasis of lean manufacturing and active participation in daily lean management. The individual must have a proven record of improving productivity, on time delivery, quality and scrap.  This position will also provide strategic leadership in identifying business strengths and opportunities for improvement in all areas of the organization, assist in establishing and setting specific business objectives centered on process improvement and in selecting projects, characterizing projects and estimating financial impact of projects, lead in the selection of strategic multi-functional projects to support business needs as assigned, drive cultural change promoting optimized processes, elimination of waste, employee empowerment. 

 

The candidate must be able to work in an environment of rapidly changing priorities and workload. You must have the ability to manage multiple activities and assignments and to work in a self-directed manner. You should be able to manage and organize work to meet timelines and to meet the attention of detail required to successfully complete assignments.

 

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:  Thorough understanding of lean practices and plant operations, Master Black Belt Certification and demonstrated work as a Master Black Belt, Demonstrated experience leading Black Belt/Green Belt project teams, Demonstrated experience in LEAN training and curriculum development, Demonstrated experience in working multiple projects in a changing environment, Proven ability to coach and mentor others, ability to work with all levels of management, Excellent oral/written communication skills, Four years of successful manufacturing experience with at least two years of direct Lean leadership, Four year technical degree preferred. 

  The successful candidate must be capable of moving into a Production Manager position in the near future. Bi-lingual a plus. AA/EEO/M/F/D/V.
