Operations Improvement Manager

Leading airbag manufacturing company is looking for a Operations Improvement Manager for its South Hill, VA facility to act as a change agent for the company by leading the continuous improvement efforts within the plant. 


The primary responsibilities of the Operations Improvement Manager are to assist the Plant Manager and the Director of COI (Continuous Operational Improvement) in the following: Mentoring and development of all Six Sigma Green Belts, Black Belts and Lean Practitioners within the plant  Assist in the development and approval of  charters and final reports of all continuous improvement projectsCoordinate all continuous improvement training activities within the plantAssist with developing internal training capabilities and resources for continuous improvementMaintain continuous improvement metrics that support overall plant objectives and records of individual continuous improvement projects Promote the internal and external sharing of best practicesCoordinating and supporting other Lean/CI activities

Qualified candidates must possess Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, certification in Lean and/or Six Sigma.  Minimum of 3 years experience in manufacturing, one year of which must have been in leading continuous improvement teams to successful conclusions.  Must have computer skills (power user of Microsoft Office products, familiar with statistical software such as Minitab, JMP or Qstat, and other as needed), strong leadership and communication skills, and proven project leadership performance.
