Position Summary:
The Operations Leader is responsible for supporting the department manager in leading and coordinating the plant supply chain for the extrusion department. In this role, the Ops Leader will serve as a “manufacturing generalist” for all department operating team members focusing on daily management and coordination of safety, quality, costs, raw material management, customer service, people development, and performance management.


Required Qualifications:
Operating Results – Operating Floor Leadership
Lead and coordinate resources needed to drive daily operations (safety, production, quality) and assure followup actions are identified and completed. Ensure that effective daily managing systems are in place to drive to root cause and process centered interventions. Drive operating results through department teams and star coordinator/cell interaction and engagement. Achieve current week/month/year operating targets in safety, OEE, costs, product and service quality, and capital and inventory management. Helps set process and workflow direction for department and provides direct input into team performance and evaluations. Handles requests and issues that require escalation beyond frontline and team resources.
People/Engagement Strategy Execution:
Ensure and nurture a safe working environment. Responsible for leading and developing teams and driving daily operations engagement and accountability. Provide advisory coaching and mentoring to team members. Work with T&Q and OE pillar leadership/teams to develop and implement intervention strategies to assist work teams in effectively operating within team coordinator and cell roles.
Continuous Improvement
Lead sustainability process efforts (Centerlines, CILs, Abnormality tracking) to maintain and improve daily operations at world class standards. Utilize pillar leadership/teams to develop, implement, and execute tactical strategies to meet operating goals.
Responsible for 4 shifts – 1 operating department - 206 Regular full-time employees and 165 contingent workforce



Minimum Years and Type of Experience Required:
5 - 7 years of operational experience

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Operational technical experience
- Team facilitation and consensus building working thru engagement of various levels of the organization
- Excellent oral/written communication and people skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Desire to move upward and relocate within Clorox
- Exposure to World Class Manufacturing, Lean, or 6 sigma is a plus.

Minimum Education Level/ Degree:
BS/BA – Technical/Engineering, operations, or Business
