Barnes Aerospace also provides rapid jet engine component overhaul and repair services for many of the world's major commercial airlines, the U.S. military and engine OEMs. The Windsor Airmotive Division has an exciting career opportunity in its manufacturing operations organization. We are seeking a dynamic individual to play an integral role in driving and supporting our business goals and objectives for profitable, sustainable growth. The right candidate should have a proven track record of leadership and building collorabortive teams, to bring about results. He or she will “lead by example” and act as a proactive liaison between the Division Manager and manufacturing personnel to champion change initiatives and to continue to satisfy and exceed customer expectations. Core Responsibilities:Develop and maintain an effective operations organization through selection, training/development and motivation of a manufacturing team.Develop employee talents to obtain short and long-range goals by effective direction, counseling and training according to an overall business plan.Plan and control MRO manufacturing operations at lowest cost consistent with established specifications for customer quality.Responsible for year over year cost reductions (5%) and Turn Around Time reductions through the utilization of Continuous Improvement projects.Reduce both internal and external quality escapes showing year over year improvement while introducing new products into the shop. Direct the preparation of specifications as to quality, quantity, delivery and service required for purchase of plant equipment, supplies, and materials to meet production schedules. Involves suppliers in the design of these services optimizing the needs of the MRO facility.Provide leadership and direction to workforce in a manufacturing environment; establish production priorities and schedules consistent with unit goals.Prioritize and schedule work assignments for hourly workforce, provide performance assessment and development, coaching, mentoring and technical support, as needed.Implement 5S, set-up reduction initiatives, TPM initiatives and standard work planning to achieve customer turn around times under 20 days.Maintain an on time delivery above 90%.In addition to being responsible for the Manufacturing Personnel the Facilities Organization also reports to this position. Qualifications: 3 years of related operations or manufacturing experience in the Aerospace MRO or related industries. Demonstrated success implementing change in a manufacturing environment.Demonstrated experience in making sound business judgments related to product manufacturing.Demonstrated success in leading by example. Ability to facilitate and manage change effectively.Effective interpersonal skills – able to communicate and engage personnel at all levels of the organization.Lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience/training a definite plus. Education Requirements:B.S. degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent. MS or MBA degree highly desirable.
