Operations Manager-Accessories

 

We currently have a position located in our Greenwood plant for a Manager of Operations-Accessories.  Under the direction of and reporting to the Director of Manufacturing, this position implements manufacturing methodology including Lean principles and other continuous improvement methods to achieve the most economical manufacture of Company products, components, and accessories.

Duties and Responsibilities

Plan, manage and direct all manufacturing activities to include such services that are assigned to achieve efficient and economical production within established manufacturing costs, to maintain the highest standard of quality and volume requirements, scheduled customer commitments and to accomplish profit, growth forecast and investment return goals. Assist with the development and formulation of long and short-range plans, policies, programs, operating procedures and objectives.



Maintain close surveillance over Greenwood Tool Plant operations through analysis of reports, staff meetings, observation and personal contact to assure coordination and integration of work flow, timely production, budgetary conformance, schedules, and utilization of personnel skills, machines, equipment and facilities. Coordinate and support major projects such as expansion of facilities, process transfers, installation of capital equipment, major repairs and overhauls, plant layout changes, etc., to the best economic advantage.



Participate as a Management representative in the interpretation and administration of policies relative to Company work rules and regulations. Responsible for maintaining harmonious relationships with all personnel. Direct and coordinate various programs essential to manufacturing procedures such as training, safety, housekeeping, work simplification, cost reduction, plant protection and security, etc. Act as liaison between Management and supervisory levels to keep personnel informed on matters of communication, decisions and policies.



Plan, determine and administer staffing requirements, organization structure, relationships, functions line of authority, etc. Direct and supervise the preparation and maintenance of reports, records, files, etc., for Management information. Prepare operating budget proposals and maintain controls to assure compliance.

Education and Experience Requirements

This position requires an educational equivalent to a Bachelors degree in Manufacturing Engineering, plus 10 – 15 years experience in technical, managerial, and/or engineering positions.
