Operations planner / scheduler

Electro-Graph (EG), founded in 1979 and located in Carlsbad CA, designs and manufactures replacement subassemblies and parts for wafer fabrication equipment.  As a second source supplier, the Company places particular emphasis on improving equipment performance.  More than 90 percent of wafer fabrication facilities in the world use EG parts, which are widely regarded as equipment upgrades. We are a team of approximately 65 people who work together in a casual and dynamic environment.

 

Operations Planner / Scheduler

 

Establish, maintain, control and revise master production schedule. Plan and execute optimal finite production plans based on sales order, transfer orders, forecast and reorder point demand. Work closely with purchasing to ensure a smooth, uninterrupted flow of raw materials and components. Maximize production schedule through coordination with production management.

 

Schedule and coordinate flow of work within and between departments. Provide dispatch reports to work centers and establish job order priorities. Collaborate with production supervisors to resolve unexpected production problems. Analyze work center bottlenecks and imbalances; recommend alternatives for resolutions or overtime. Review production schedule to facilitate expedites with the goal to minimize potential overtime/cost.

 

Recommend actions to prevent customer re-dates, update re-date module and provide daily “Late to Demand Report” alerting all departments of possible redates to customer demand.  Interact with and support production supervisors and customer service, identify critical path items and communicate changes in delivery schedule to all departments 

 

Assist in development and implementation of new planning techniques and tools.Work with planning tools to resolve and optimize system performance and recommend system enhancements.Process Engineering Changes, and, review and release repair job orders to production.

 

Confer with supporting departments for production and ramp strategies.Analyze historical usage data and based on sales input prepare, manage and maintain product forecast. Work with order fulfillment to analyze, recommend, set up and maintain internal consignment inventory in support of external consignment locations. Review and manage the secured internal inventory.

 

Analyze “re-dates” to customers, determine cause, and record results.

 

Education and/or Experience - Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires proficient PC skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.  Requires knowledge of accounting or manufacturing based ERP system.  Formal education in APICS or supply chain management will be beneficial.
