Outside Services- Production Control

Ellwood Texas Forge, a worldwide leader in metal forgings for the Military, Aerospace and Oil & Gas markets, is located south of the Reliant Park area.

We now have a position in our Outside Services Department on the 1st shift. The selected candidate will need to have 2 to 4 years manufacturing experience, as well as 1 to 2 years Production Control experience, 1 to 2 years Procurement experience and basic knowledge of manufacturing processes in a heavy steel environment. This would include machining, cleaning, NDE, Heat Treatment, saw cutting, grinding, etc. A 2 to 4 year degree is preferred but not required. A High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.

Pay is based upon experience.

Requirements will be, but not limited to: Vendor Interaction with but not limited to machine shops, weld shops who sandblast & paint, heat treatment sources, mechanical & NDE labs, saw cutting shops and shipping crate/container manufacturers. Assist in developing new vendors Involvement in Cost Reduction Projects Attend meetings as required Assist in plant wide semi-annual physical inventory Make required MRP transactions (labor for outside services, receipts/issues for product) Assist in managing inventory(raw product) in house and at vendor sites Provide purchase order status and updates to internal customers Phone interaction with vendors Scheduling Obtaining Quotes Issuing Purchase Orders to vendors
